EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy

EMDR
EMDR, short for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, is best explained as a structured approach designed to help individuals confront and process traumatic memories. During our work together, we will briefly focus on the traumatic event while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation, typically through eye movements. EMDR aims to reduce the intensity of emotions and vividness associated with the trauma.
Extensively researched and proven effective, EMDR has emerged as a leading psychotherapy method for trauma recovery and alleviating symptoms of PTSD. Its positive clinical outcomes extend beyond trauma, showing promise in treating a spectrum of disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, and addiction. Research has shown EMDR therapy to outperform medications like Prozac in trauma treatment.

Using EMDR techniques, we will collaboratively explore the emotions tied to pivotal events in your life, allowing us to understand their effects better. I will support you throughout your healing journey, fostering a secure and nurturing space for your healing process while equipping you with tools to manage your emotions, both during our sessions and in daily life. I aim to respond to your unique needs and grow alongside you as we discover deeper healing levels.
